Leh, Sept 03: Asking the Department of Urban local bodies to identify generally neglected garbage points and conduct cleanliness drive there, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve on Tuesday called for optimum use of the social media and other platforms to highlight the forthcoming Swachhata hi Sewa Campaign and spread its outreach to gain maximum participation.
The Swachhata hi Sewa Campaign is going to held from 14th September to 2nd October 2024.
On Tuesday, Santosh Sukhadeve convened the first District level meeting regarding the Campaign at the mini conference hall, DC office Leh.
During the meeting, a presentation was made on the different activities to be achieved during the campaign period such as swachhata pledges, public workshops, marathon, walkathon, human chains, Gram Sabhas, waste to art events, youth connect and many other events.
DC Leh, directed all the SDMs, BDOs and HoDs to actively engage government officials, general public and schools and college students in various activities and campaigns on large scale and be a part of Swachhata ki Bhaagidari.
He instructed Department of Urban local bodies to identify black spots (generally neglected garbage points) and do cleanliness drive of such areas. He also instructed Department of Rural Development and Urban Local Bodies to identify outstanding workers and felicitate them to laud their work.
Additionally, he also stressed on using social media and other platforms to highlight about the campaign and spread its outreach to gain maximum participation.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Leh, ACD Leh along with other officers from different departments.
