Kargil, Sep 01: In a bid to enhance road safety awareness across Ladakh, the Traffic Police Ladakh, under the “I Drive Safe” campaign, held an engaging interactive session with key road transport stakeholders in Kargil. The session, which took place at the Taxi Stand Kargil, was spearheaded by SP Traffic Ladakh, Kacho Ishtyaq AA Khan – JKPS, and was well-attended by presidents and members of various transport unions from the district. Inspector Nisar Ali, DTI Kargil, also participated in the event.
The primary focus of the session was to enhance road safety measures and address the concerns of local transport operators. The platform allowed participants to express their issues and grievances directly to the authorities, fostering a spirit of collaboration and open communication.
SP Traffic Ladakh assured the stakeholders of prompt action on their concerns and highlighted the importance of a unified approach to road safety. The session was marked by constructive discussions and a shared commitment to reducing road accidents in the region.
Mustafa, the President of the Taxi Union Kargil, expressed his gratitude to SP Traffic Ladakh for personally addressing the union’s long-standing issues. He commended the proactive stance taken by the Traffic Police in resolving these matters and improving road safety.
Following the interactive session, SP Traffic Ladakh, accompanied by the Traffic Police Team and transport representatives, conducted a visit to various transport stands, including those for taxis, buses, 407, 907, and Eeco Vans. They distributed “I Drive Safe” stickers to the vehicles and secured commitments from drivers to uphold safe driving practices.
This event is part of the broader “I Drive Safe” campaign by the Traffic Police Ladakh, which aims to reduce road accidents and promote responsible driving across the region. The initiative underscores the Traffic Police’s dedication to improving road safety and fostering cooperation among all road transport stakeholders.
