Leh, Aug 28: The One Stop Centre (OSC) Leh, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Mission Shakti, hosted a pivotal one-day interaction session with representatives from key women’s religious associations, here today. The meeting, which brought together members from Anjuman Moinul Islam, Anjuman-e-Imamia, Ladakh Buddhist Association Women Wing, and Mahila Mandal, aimed to address critical issues related to women’s safety, security, and empowerment.
The session provided a platform to discuss the challenges women face in various aspects of life, including domestic safety, access to legal resources, and the significance of economic and social empowerment. Keynote speakers highlighted the need for promoting gender equality and safeguarding women’s rights, while interactive discussions allowed participants to voice their experiences, concerns, and suggestions for enhancing women’s safety and security in the region.
The collaborative effort underscores a shared commitment among the OSC, DHEW, and participating religious associations to foster a more supportive and secure environment for women in Leh. By working together, these organizations aim to build awareness and drive initiatives that will empower women at the grassroots level.
The OSC and DHEW plan to continue these collaborative efforts, organizing more events in the future to strengthen their outreach and enhance the rights and safety of women across the district.
