Gyalson emphasises transparency in ‘Housing for All’ scheme in Leh; Reviews Climate Cup preparations

Leh, Aug 28: Emphasising the importance of transparency in the process, ensuring that only those with genuine needs receive priority, Chairman, CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson, LAHDC, Leh chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation of the ‘Housing for All’ scheme in the conference hall of the council secretariat on August 27.
Dy. Chairman, LAHDC, Leh Tsering Angchuk; Executive Councillors for Minority Ghulam Mehdi; Executive Councillor for Culture Stanzin Chosphel; Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson; Chief Controller of Finance Dr. Zulfikar Ali;ACR Leh Shabir Hussain and AD FCS & CA Leh Ruth Mary were present during the meeting.
The primary objective of the Housing for All scheme is to support individuals lacking secure and adequate housing, particularly those who are financially disadvantaged and do not own property in Leh or their respective villages.
The meeting focused on establishing a district level committee responsible for formulating guidelines and eligibility conditions for the scheme. This committee will also oversee the creation of sub divisional level committees. These bodies will play a critical role in scrutinizing applications and setting parameters for categorization.
The district level committee will be tasked with ensuring a fair and rigorous selection process, aligning with the scheme’s goals of equitable housing provision.
CEC Gyalson emphasized the importance of transparency in the process, ensuring that only those with genuine needs receive priority.
Meanwhile, Chairman, CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson accompanied by Secretary Sports Vikram Singh Malik; DC/CEO , LAHDC,Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve; SSP Leh, Shruti Arora visited Astroturf Open Stadium at Spituk on Aug 27 to inspect the ongoing preparations for the upcoming “Climate Cup” Football Tournament to be held on first week of September.
SE PWD, Dorjey Gyatso; OSD To Secretary Sports, Dr. Stanzin Thekchos; AD tourism; XeN, PHE; XeN, PDD; DYSSO Leh, Tsering Tashi and the others concerned officers and officials from LFA were also present during the visits.
CEC Gyalson instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the pending works are completed within the specified time frame.
Similarly, CEC Gyalson visited the Ice Hockey Rink at NDS Sports Complex, Leh. He was accompanied by Secretary Sports Vikram Singh Malik; DC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, SE, PWD, Dorjey Gyatso and officials of Ladakh Winter Sports Club, Leh.
The officials reviewed the status of the Ice Hockey rink at the Sports complex and discussed various other measures for further upgradation of the Ice-Hockey stadium in Leh.
