Leh, Aug 29: Deputy Chairman LAHDC, Leh Tsering Angchuk today chaired a meeting to address the pressing concerns raised by Daily Waged Laborers across various departments in Leh.
The meeting held in the conference hall of the Council Secretariat, was attended by Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi, and Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee.
The delegation, led by President Phuntsog Angchuk, presented a series of issues, most notably the pending approval of the daily wager welfare scheme from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The group stressed the urgency of addressing these concerns and expressed regret over a miscommunication regarding their scheduled appointment with Chief Executive Councillor Tashi Gyalson.
Deputy Chairman Angchuk reassured the delegation that their concerns are being taken seriously. He indicated that steps are being taken to resolve the issues promptly and promised that a meeting with Chief Executive Councillor Tashi Gyalson will be arranged soon to further discuss the needs of the workers. The administration’s commitment to addressing the grievances was underscored, reflecting a serious approach to the welfare of daily wage laborers in the region.
