Leh, Aug 27: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, Tashi Gyalson undertook a day-long tour of the villages of Khaltse constituency, where he also inaugurated and laid Foundation Stones of developments works worth more than Rs 27.75 crore in the Khaltse Constituency.
Gyalson was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Leh and CEO LAHDC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve and Councillor Khaltse constituency Lobzang Sherab, an official spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Superintendent Engineer, PWD, Stanzin Gyatso; Superintendent Engineer, PMGSY; Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh; Project Officer, ICDS, Leh; Chief Education Officer; Chief Agriculture Officer; SDM, Khaltse; XeN, PHE; XeN, PDD and other concerned officials were present during the visits.
The visit included the inauguration of several community projects and the laying of foundation stones for key developmental works, with an estimated cost of more than Rs 27.75 Crore, said the spokesperson.
Gyalson visited Ulley, Mangu, Lhardo and Alchi vilages and interacted with public gatherings. The villagers of Sham region accorded a warm welcome to all the officials during their visit.
At the outset of the tour, the officials paid visits to Ulley village followed by the foundation stone laying ceremony of construction of Community Hall under the district plan.
After the thorough assessment, the team led by Gyalson visited Mangue village to review and assess the gathering. Gyalson, in the presence of Santosh Sukhadeve and Lobzang Sherap laid the foundation stone for the flood protection work at Mangue Nalla also.
Similarly, CEC Gyalson led team visited Lhardo village where he laid the foundation stone for the construction of Community Hall at Lhardo.
During their visit to the said villages, the major issues highlighted by the villager’s included completion of road connectivity with blacktopping, strengthening of Tele-connectivity networks, reparation of motorable bridges, developmental requirements at monasteries and various others.
Furthermore, Gyalson visited Alchi village to review developmental requirements. The village representatives of Alchi also met CEC with their grievances at a public gathering.
In addition to that, Gyalson laid foundation stone for the construction of public gathering Community Hall, Futsal ground, link road to Alchi Dok and the construction of ICDS Centre at Alchi village in the presence of DC Leh and Councillor Khaltse constituency.
The CEC Gyalson lauded the efforts of local people in developing and transforming their region and also assured the villagers to resolve all the issues and would work on fulfilling the genuine demands raised before him.
The CEC also extended his congratulations to the people on the announcement of five new districts in Ladakh, calling today both auspicious and historic. This was highlighted when, during the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for various new projects in the Sham area, we received the exciting news that Sham has been designated as a new district.
