Leh, Aug 25: The Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) has expressed profound appreciation for the collective efforts of several key institutions involved in the emergency response to a devastating road accident in Durbuk that tragically claimed the lives of seven individuals and left 21 others injured.

In a statement issued, Chering Dorjey Lakruk, President of the LBA, lauded the swift and compassionate actions of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Ladakh Police, District Administration Leh, health authorities at SNM Hospital, local volunteers, and the Union Territory Administration under the dynamic leadership of Lieutenant Governor B.D. Mishra.

“After receiving early information about the accident, the District Administration, alongside all other involved institutions, demonstrated exceptional dedication and compassion in their efforts to carry out the rescue operation,” Dorjey Lakruk said. He highlighted the coordinated response and the remarkable efficiency of the teams involved, which played a crucial role in minimizing the impact of the tragic incident.

The LBA commended the exemplary skills displayed during the rescue efforts and emphasized the importance of their timely intervention in saving precious lives. The association extended its heartfelt congratulations to all the institutions for their unwavering commitment to public service and compassion during such a critical time.

In addition to the praise, the LBA conveyed its deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. The organization’s statement reflects a strong community spirit and appreciation for the combined efforts that helped manage the aftermath of the unfortunate accident.

The accident has left the region in mourning, but the collective response of the various agencies and volunteers has underscored the strength and solidarity of the Ladakh community in facing such crises.
