UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 23: District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai today reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming General Assembly Election 2024 here at a meeting with Nodal Officers and Returning Officers. The meeting was held in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; IAS Probationer Swati Sheemar; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Additional SP Sandeep Bhat; Deputy District Election Officer, Dr Anirudh Rai; PO Poshan Subash Dogra; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Umesh Shan; Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal and other Nodal Officers.

The meeting held detailed discussions on various critical aspects of election preparation, including enforcement of Model Code of Conduct, law and order management, training of personnel, expenditure monitoring, media communication strategies, transport management, helpline services, Pre certification of advertisement and paid news, complaints and redressal mechanism, the Election Seizure Monitoring System, facilitation of PwD voters, SVEEP activities and the randomization of polling staff.

The DEO emphasized the importance of effective coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the smooth, fair, and inclusive conduct of the electoral process, thereby upholding the integrity of this democratic exercise. She directed all Nodal Officers to complete their assigned tasks promptly and to maintain close cooperation and coordination with each other.

Comprehensive guidance regarding duties and responsibilities during the election period was provided to all Nodal Officers and designated personnel to ensure a seamless execution of the election process.
