Leh, Aug 21: A group of 50 students from the NAMO Medical Education and Research Institute, Silvassa, recently visited the University of Ladakh’s CISIC Lab, located at the Leh Campus. This visit marked a significant milestone in their academic journey, offering them a unique opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art instrumentation and cutting-edge research technologies.
The primary objective of the visit was to expose the students to advanced technologies in instrumentation. Throughout their time at the CISIC Lab, the students were introduced to innovative solutions and cutting-edge research across various fields, including physics, chemistry, and molecular biology. They were particularly fascinated by their interactions with the DST-PURSE staff, where they gained valuable insights into the practical applications of these technologies in real-world scenarios.
The visit ignited curiosity among the students and inspired many to consider careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). One of the participants expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to have had this opportunity to explore the instrumentation facility at the University of Ladakh’s CISIC Lab. It was an eye-opening experience that has motivated us to work harder and pursue our dreams in science and technology.”
However, the visit also highlighted a significant concern regarding the lack of awareness about instrumentation facilities among young scholars, particularly those from diverse backgrounds. Despite the critical role of instrumentation in scientific research, medical education, and technological innovation, many students are not adequately informed about the resources and facilities available to them. This knowledge gap can hinder their academic and professional growth and limit their potential to contribute to cutting-edge research and development.
Organized as part of NAMO Medical Education and Research Institute’s commitment to providing practical learning opportunities, the visit aimed to encourage students to think creatively and strive for excellence in their respective fields. This collaborative initiative underscores the importance of fostering a spirit of innovation among students, empowering them to develop solutions with a sustainable impact.
The visit also emphasized the University of Ladakh’s dedication to promoting scientific inquiry and innovation among young minds. By providing access to cutting-edge technology and expertise, the university aims to inspire the next generation of leaders in STEM fields.
