Leh : – The Chairman/ CEC, LAHDC, Leh Adv. Tashi Gyalson along with Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh, Tsering Angchuk and Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Leh Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a review meeting to discuss various plans under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 in the conference hall of council secretariat today.

The primary objective of the meeting was the Igoo-Phey Beautification Project, which aims to enhance the tourism potential of the region. During the meeting a detailed presentation on the Igoo-Phey Canal Front Development was given virtually by SD, 2.0, PDMC Team, UT Ladakh, Voyants Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The project located near Stok Village includes the development of a cycling track, a cafeteria, parking facilities and other essential public amenities.

Snehasish Bhattacharjee, Project Coordinator, Technical, Leh apprised the attendees about the plan of action under the Igoo-Phey Canal Front Development and requested the H’CEC for the transfer of proposed land for the implementation of beautification project near Stok Village.

H’CEC Gyalson directed Snehasish, Executive Engineer, Igoo-Phey, and all the concerned officers to conduct a thorough joint survey of the proposed site and to officially earmark the area as part of the Igoo-Phey Beautification Project. He further emphasised the need to establish a clear boundary to prevent encroachment and stressed that the beautification efforts should not interfere with the functionality of the existing irrigation canal.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Leh,Tsewang Gyalson; Executive Engineer, Igoo Phey; Executive Engineer, LDA, Leh; Assistant Director, Tourism,Leh and other concerned officers/officials.
