Leh, Aug 22: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ladakh has conveyed its profound grief and sorrow following the tragic bus accident that occurred earlier today in Durbuk. The accident, which took place on Changla Road, has resulted in significant loss of life and numerous injuries.

In an official statement, the BJP Ladakh described the incident as a devastating blow to the region, expressing that the entire Ladakh community is in shock and mourning. The party extended its heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the loss of their loved ones, acknowledging the profound impact of this tragedy.

“The BJP Ladakh shares and extends its deep condolences to those who have experienced this irreparable loss,” the statement read. “We stand in full empathy with the passengers who were injured and their families during this difficult time.”

The BJP Ladakh also expressed its deep gratitude towards the various agencies and volunteers who responded promptly to the accident. The party commended their swift actions in assisting with the rescue and relief operations, which were crucial in mitigating the impact of the accident.

As the community comes to terms with the tragedy, the BJP Ladakh has called for continued support and solidarity in addressing the needs of those affected and ensuring their well-being during this challenging period.

Meanwhile, Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gonpa Association, and Merchant Association have announced that the market will be closed tomorrow, August 23rd, until 2 p.m. in solidarity with the Lamdon incident. They have also organised a candlelight march from Leh Gate to Chokhang Vihara at 6 p.m. and are urging the public to participate in large numbers.
