Anantnag 22 Aug: In a decisive operation, Bijbehara Police, acting on a precise tip-off, conducted a successful raid at Pazalpora Bijbehara, near Jadoo Point, leading to the seizure of approximately 950 litres of illicit country-made liquor. The operation also uncovered various equipment and materials used in the illegal production process. Two individuals, Azad Singh and Suraj Chohan, originally from Akola, Maharashtra, and currently residing in Pazalpora, Bijbehara, have been arrested.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 168/2024, invoking Section 48 of the Excise Act at Police Station Bijbehara.

This swift and effective action by the Anantnag Police underscores their unwavering dedication to enforcing excise laws and cracking down on illegal activities in the district.
