Leh, Aug 20: Bhartiya Vidya Niketan (BVN) High School today celebrated 24th Parents’ Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. The programme was attended by parents and students.
Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk was the chief guest on the ocassion whereas Govind Chandar Mohanta, National Organizing Secretary, Vidya Bharti was the main speaker of the event. Tashi Tundup, Assistant Secretary JKBOSE Leh was the guest of honor.
The programme started with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and prayer. Principal of the School, Gopal Singh presented the welcome address and gave a brief account of the journey covered by the school since its inception.
The main speaker, Govind Chandar Mohanta laid emphasis on the role of parents and teachers in the character building of the students. He mentioned that Vidya Bharti was making sincere attempts in providing value based education to the students across the country.
Tsering Angchuk, in his address, lauded the school management for doing excellent job in imparting education to the students of Ladakh.
Tashi Tundup also shared his thoughts and lauded Vidya Bharti for its tireless efforts in the field of education.
Earlier, students presented several enthralling performances highlighting culture of Ladakh and issues related to healthy parenting.
On the occasion, the chief guest honored the meritorious students of the Board Exam. The programme was ably compered by Ms. Nighat Parveen.
