Leh :- Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh, Shri Tashi Gyalson along with State President, BJP Ladakh, Shri Phuntsog Stanzin, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh, Shri Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Additional PCCF, Shri Brij Mohan Sharma, IFS and Assistant Director, Tourism Department Leh, Shri Fesal Iqbal Tantary, JKAS, were present in the meeting.
Chairman/CEC Leh, Shri Tashi Gyalson requested the HLG to allow traffic movement on Nimmo-Padum-Darcha Road every Sunday. He also highlighted the need for Directors posted in Kargil to review and check the progress of ongoing development projects in Leh district also so that development works are not hampered. He also suggested reviewing the division of Directors between the two 0districts. Shri Gyalson further requested for the rationalisation of the boundary of Hemis High Altitude National Park.
The HLG asked CEC Leh, Shri Tashi Gyalson to hold a meeting with the Border Road Organisation (BRO) authorities to resolve the matter of allowing traffic on the Nimoo-Padum-Darcha Road every day for a few hours. He stated that the Directors posted in both districts should inspect the ongoing developmental works of their respective departments and hold meetings with the Chairmen of the Hill Councils after seeking prior permission from the Advisor to the HLG.
The HLG asked CEC Leh Shri Tashi Gyalson to submit the proposal for the rationalisation of the division of Directors between the two districts so that an appropriate decision could be taken in this regard. He stated that the rationalisation of the boundary of Hemis National Park would be taken up after the final decision on the rationalisation of the boundary of Karakoram and Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary by the National Board for Wildlife and the Hon’ble Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).
