Pulwama, August 13: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, a police party from Police station Pulwama established a Naka checkpoint at Gangoo Pulwama. During Naka Checking one truck bearing Reg No PB08EQ 8089 which was driven by Sukhdev Singh S/0 Surat Singh R/0 Punjab was stopped and searched . On searching 02 bags of poppy straw were recovered and in this regard case FIR no 166/2024 was registered and investigation taken up . During the course of investigation, on the disclosure of accused Sukdev Singh one more drug peddler namely Mohd Yousuf Gadda S/0 Mohd Shaban Gadda R/0 Gangoo was arrested and one bag of poppy straw was recovered on his disclosure and total 15 kg of poppy straw was recovered from both accused persons .
The investigation of the case is going on , and more recoveries and arrests are expected as the police intensify their efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
