Leh:– A five-day long series of free health check-up and medicine distribution camps across Ladakh UT named “Rishi Kashyap Swasthya Seva Yatra” being organized Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa in collaboration with National Medicos Organization (NMO) was inaugurated the other day in an impressive function held at BVN School, Choglamsar here.

Stanzin Chosphel, Executive Councillor (Agriculture, Art & Culture), LAHDC Leh was the chief guest during the function whereas, Dr Padma Gurmet, President, Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa; and Balwinder Singh, Organizing Secretary, Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa were the special guests. Dr. Mukesh Nagar, Office Secretary, NMO was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nagar told about the itinerary of “Rishi Kashyap Swasthya Seva Yatra” and informed that a total of 28 medicos were the part of this yatra. “During the course of next four days, medicos will form seven different teams and hold free health check-up and medicine distribution camps at various remote locations across Ladakh including Nubra, Hanle, Abran, Aryan Valley, Parkachik, Korzok and Bodh Kharboo.

He informed that NMO had been organizing such camps for several years and the medicos all across the country were coming forward and offering voluntary service to the ailing mankind.  On the occasion, he announced that each team of medicos would adopt a child and sponsor his school education.

Stanzin Chosphel lauded the efforts of NMO in offering free medical services to the people all across the country and appreciated the announcement made by Dr Nagar regarding the adoption of a child by each team.

Earlier, in the day NMO team organized a free medical health check-up and medicine distribution camp at Leh Airport. Over 200  construction workers and other people were examined by the team of doctors during the day long camp for various ailments and provided free of cost medicines.
