Kargil 10 :- Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today conducted a surprise visit to the Old District Hospital, Kargil, which has been converted into an Urban Primary Health Centre (PHC).

During his visit, Dr Akhoon inspected various sections of the hospital, including Trauma Unit, Dental Section, Eye OPD, NCD Clinic, DTC Dispensary, Amchi Clinic, Immunization Section, Blood Bank, BPMU, and DTO.

The CEC closely inquired about the functioning of these units, checked the attendance of staff members and scrutinised the day and night duty rosters. He issued instructions to the ticket counter staff to ensure that the counter is open at 9:30 a.m. every morning.

Notably, some staff members were found absent during the surprise visit, to which Dr Jaffer instructed the concerned officer to submit an action taken report regarding the absent staff.

The CEC emphasised that LAHDC, Kargil, is committed to welfare of the people and expects every doctor and staff member to perform their duties with punctuality and diligence. He reiterated the Council’s dedication to ensuring that healthcare services are delivered efficiently and responsibly.

Later, Dr Akhoon also visited the Conference Hall at the Old District Hospital, where a one-day orientation program was conducted for the District Drug Addiction Centre (DDAC) staff.

Addressing the participants, he stressed the importance of taking decisive action against drug suppliers and urged the staff to work responsibly towards creating a drug-free society in Kargil.
