Leh : The (A) Secretary, Department of Law and Justice, UT Ladakh, Sh. Shashi Kant Bhagat convened a meeting with all the law officers from Leh and also from Kargil who joined virtually to discuss key issues related to case management and legal compliance today in his office chamber.
During the meeting, the Secretary directed the law officers to submit detail data of all pending cases along with their current status. Emphasizing the upcoming Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) circuit Bench for UT of Ladakh sitting on August 22nd – 23rd, 2024, the Secretary instructed to ensure filing of all the necessary replies in a timely manner. He reiterated the importance of adhering to deadlines for filing compliance reports in all the important matters and maintaining regular communication with standing counsel.
The Secretary also clarified the roles and responsibilities of the law officers, stressing the need for prompt file clearance and ensuring that no case is overlooked. Additionally, he announced that a circular would soon be issued to expedite legal matters across all administrative departments of UT Ladakh to prevent any adverse court orders due to delays.
