Jammu, Aug, 7: Amid growing indications of upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, political activities in the region have ramped up. In a significant move, SSP Mohan Lal, a 1999 batch KPS officer, has tendered his resignation to the J&K Home Department, signaling his intent to join the electoral fray.

Sources reveal that Mohan Lal is currently in discussions with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), aiming to secure a nomination to contest from the SC reserved Akhnoor Assembly seat.

The BJP is reportedly considering fielding the seasoned police official, recognizing his potential to strengthen their position in the upcoming assembly elections.

As the political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir heats up, more such developments are anticipated in the coming weeks.
