Kargil : Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended the minority loan scheme awareness camp cum loan mela organized by Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Finance Corporation (JKLFC) in collaboration with National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
ADC, Kargil; Councillor Silmo, Former CEC; Councillor Town; Councillor Baroo-Minjee; Councillor Choskore; Councillor Yourbaltak; Councillor Panikhar; Chairman IKMT; President LBA; representatives of Sikh Community and general public attended the event.
In his address, Dr Akhoon said these schemes will help in the economic growth of start-ups and promote sustainable development within the community. He emphasised the need for providing loans in a hassle-free, timely, transparent, and corruption-free manner.
The CEC also advocated for extending the loan limit in consideration of current inflation rates and urged the corporation to organize similar camps at block and sub-divisional levels to enhance job opportunities for the unemployed youth.
Councillor Silmo and Former CEC, Feroz Khan noted the novelty of such an initiative and highlighted that 97 percent of Ladakh population falls under minority status.
He requested the CEC to take up the matter with the Union Ministry to implement more minority schemes in Ladakh. He requested the corporation to simplify loan availing procedures.
Earlier, JKLFC General Manager, Suhail Qadri delivered the welcome speech, outlining the various loan schemes offered by the corporation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by JKLFC District Incharge, Jigmet Namgyal.
