Jammu 06 :- Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo held a comprehensive meeting with senior officers from the civil administration and Police Department to review preparations for Independence Day and the national ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The meeting, which aimed to assess ongoing activities, also focused on the progress of the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign and other key initiatives.
Swachhta Pakhwada Campaign Evaluation
At the outset, Chief Secretary Dulloo conducted a detailed evaluation of the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, which began on August 1. He reviewed the progress made by various departments and districts, paying particular attention to the ‘Ek Ped Shahidon Ke Naam’ campaign. Dulloo also inquired about the activities undertaken in both rural and urban areas of Jammu and Kashmir, including the success of recent plantation drives.
National Anthem and Independence Day Preparations
Dulloo stressed the importance of making the singing of the National Anthem a regular practice in school morning assemblies. He urged the School Education Department to ensure this practice is adopted and monitored effectively. Additionally, the Chief Secretary assessed the preparations for Independence Day celebrations across the Union Territory. He sought updates from Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners regarding venue availability, traffic management, and security measures.
Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign
Regarding the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Dulloo emphasized the need for meticulous planning to ensure its success across J&K. He encouraged both Divisional and District administrations to make early preparations and promote widespread participation. Principal Secretary of the Culture Department outlined an action plan for the campaign, including holding Tiranga Yatra events at district and UT levels before Independence Day.
Recognition and Online Services
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Dulloo felicitated the winners of various contests launched by the Information Technology (IT) Department in celebration of International Yoga Day. He presented appreciation certificates and cash prizes to the winners, congratulating them for their achievements and encouraging them to continue participating in similar competitions.
Additionally, Dulloo inaugurated 12 online services developed by the Revenue and Agriculture Production Departments, aimed at streamlining processes for gathering permissions, applying for phytosanitary certificates, and checking honey quality.
IT Department Performance and Future Goals
In assessing the IT Department’s performance, the Chief Secretary stressed the need for developing comprehensive IT solutions and integrating various platforms for user convenience. He highlighted the importance of having at least one Common Services Centre (CSC) in each village and urged a thorough analysis of data from these CSCs.
Commissioner Secretary, IT, Prerna Puri, reported that the Yoga Day contests received approximately 5,700 entries in categories such as Poster Making, Essay Writing, Yoga Doodle Challenge, and Yoga Storytelling. She noted that winners received certificates and cash awards of Rs 10,000 (1st prize), Rs 8,000 (2nd prize), and Rs 5,000 (3rd prize).
Looking ahead, the IT Department plans to establish a Security Operations Centre with the assistance of the Government of India and aims to digitize 50 high-volume services this year. The department also intends to develop a unified platform for centralized authentication, feedback, and delivery of Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services.
