Leh, Aug 02: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has issued new guidelines for government employees seeking permission for private travel.
According to the circular, the authority to grant permission for overseas travel in all cases lies with the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Applications for such travel must be submitted well in advance of the planned departure date to the relevant controlling authority, such as the Head of the Department or the Administrative Department. The controlling authority will thoroughly examine each application, ensuring that necessary clearances, such as Vigilance Clearance and No Dues Certificate, are obtained.
Once the application is reviewed, it will be forwarded to the General Administration Department (GAD) via the concerned Administrative Secretary. This procedure applies specifically to cases involving Heads of Departments, officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) cadre, officers of other central services, and All India Services. The application must also include an earned leave admissibility certificate.
The GAD will verify the application details and process it further for approval by the Competent Authority. For all other cases involving employees within the administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Competent Authority will grant permission through the concerned Administrative Secretary and the Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor.
