Dhamma (Majalta) :- While addressing a spirited meeting of party cadres at Village Ghar Dhamma in Tehsil Bajalta, BJP Spokesperson Mr. Ranbir Singh Pathania underscored the need for check mating drugs abuse in Udhampur. He called for stringent measures to curb the menace of drug addiction in the area. He highlighted a recent tragic incident where a 32-year-old boy in Majalta committed suicide, and a forest guard with a history of drug addiction died under suspicious circumstances in the Ramnagar area. He stressed the importance of protecting youth from such vices. While taking a potshot at the Police for resorting to kid-glove approaches, he called for taking of effective steps on the war-footing. In light of an overweening public demand, he further called for moderating electricity bills and putting an end to unscheduled power cuts.

He pointed out that although the government has not increased the power tariff, the monthly bills of consumers have increased two to three-fold, which is alarming and a significant burden on the poor. He emphasized that unscheduled power cuts cause a lot of inconvenience to the public and should be stopped. Other issues raised included installation of transformers at Village Ghar Dhamma and Baltoa Laid, inclusion of the Dhamma to Pagyal Road under the PWD, and connecting the Kathil Jansal Road with the Punna PMGSY Road. Mr. Pathania also addressed drinking water issues, noting that most Jal Jeevan Mission projects have been concluded but the supply has yet to start. Existing networks have been damaged, and new systems are not yet functional.

He called for quality control checks on executed works and their implementation.Prominent attendees included Mr. Anil Sharma, Mr. Kuldeep Singh, Mr. Shivram, Mr. Haji Muhammad Din, Mr. Shankar Singh, Mr. Ratan Singh, Meena Rani, Sham Lal, Dharam Chand, Vijay, Kewal Kumar, Ranjeet, Hans Raj, and a host of local speakers.
