Leh 01 :- Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson, LAHDC , Leh accompanied by Executive Councillor Sh. Ghulam Mehdi, Executive Councillor Stanzin Chosphel and Councillors participated in an interactive meet focused on the Union Budget 2024-25, which featured prominent guests and speakers.
The event was graced by BJP National Spokesperson and former Rajya Sabha member, Sh. Syed Zafar Islam, alongside several senior leaders including State President Sh. Phunchok Stanzin; State Mahila Morcha, President Rinchen Dolkar; Former MP, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Former joint secretary GOI, IFS, Jigmet Takpa and other esteemed figures such as former Ambassador, P. Stobdan; Former CEC,Rigzen Spalbar, Former CEC Gyal. P. Wangyal, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena. The gathering also included BJP State General Secretary P.T Kunzang, BJP, Senior Leaders, youth leaders, and various stakeholders including ALGHA, ALTOA, Merchant, All Ladakh Transport Union, Travel Trade Alliance and other eminent personalities making it a robust platform for discussion and insight.
Sh. Syed Zafar Islam, the chief guest, provided an overview of the budget, highlighting key areas such as youth employment with the initiative “Jan Jan Ko Milega Rozgaar,” and support for MSMEs through “Atmanirbhar Banta Bharat.” He emphasized the focus on agriculture with “Bhajpa ki Shaan, Khushaal Kisaan,” and the enhancement of infrastructure under “Naye Bharat ka Naya Infrastructure.” Other notable aspects included rural development, the creation of smart cities, and the promotion of tourism and heritage.
The spokesperson detailed the budget’s alignment with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat,’ aiming to transform the country through sustained efforts and strategic resource allocation. The budget reflects a vision to elevate India from a developing to a developed nation, addressing economic growth through policy initiatives and structural reforms. Sh. Islam also highlighted India’s economic progress, noting its position as the fifth largest economy globally, with a GDP surpassing $3.94 trillion in 2024.
H’CEC Tashi Gyalson, in his address, focused on Ladakh specific budget allocations and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He praised Modi’s commitment to national development and the vision for 2047, stressing the importance of balanced development across all regions. CEC Gyalson noted the significant strides made since Ladakh’s transition to a Union Territory, including the budgetary focus on sustainability and various subsidies that has been provided for various industries.
The event highlighted the collective aspiration towards a developed India, with leaders discussing the transformative impact of the budget on national and regional development.
