Jammu, July 31: In a significant development, the Arnia Police have arrested the fourth suspect in a brutal assault case that led to the death of Jagdish Raj, a resident of Pindi Sarochan. The incident, which occurred on July 24, 2024, saw Jagdish Raj, son of Manohar Lal, assaulted and severely injured. Despite efforts to save his life, Jagdish Raj succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The case, registered as FIR No. 40/2024 under Section 109 BNS at Police Station Arnia, initially led to the arrest of three suspects: Jagmohan, son of Prakash Chand; Ashu Devi, wife of Jagmohan; and Gara Ram, son of Jagmohan. All three are residents of Pindi Sarochan, Arnia. Today, on July 31, 2024, the police, after intensive efforts, have successfully apprehended the fourth suspect, Sohan Lal, son of Prakash Chand, also from Pindi Sarochan, Arnia.
During the investigation, the police have invoked Section 103 BNS, reflecting the severity of the crime. Initially, the case was being investigated under Section 109 BNS, but further developments warranted the application of the more stringent section.
The local community has expressed satisfaction with the police’s swift and effective action in apprehending the suspects. The residents have commended the Jammu Police for their diligence and timely arrests in this grave case.
