Udhampur 25 :- Pathania urged the district administration to immediately halt the dumping of solid waste from Udhampur city in the village of Mand. This appeal came after a district review meeting chaired by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), where the administration expressed unanimous agreement to end this practice.

Pathania highlighted that dumping solid waste without proper disposal systems poses a serious public health and sanitation risk to the local population. Improper waste management is creating significant crises in many institutions and areas, including Manthal, Shurta, Jhajjar Kotli, Mahamaya Temple, Government Middle School Baswani, Chanaz, Government Primary School Chanaz, Dabbar and Salora, Baswani and Amrit Saral, Chakhar, Gol and Danga, Lehnu and Government Middle School Lehnu, Famous Kali Temple and Shiv Temple Tikri, HSS Tikri, and all government and private schools (approximately 15 schools).

Pathania questioned the rationale behind accumulating large amounts of garbage near the national highway, which is an important route for the Amarnath Yatra, daily commuters between Jammu and Srinagar, and tourists. He emphasized the proximity of the Amarnath Yatra, Narayana Hospital, and various public institutions, which exacerbate the negative impacts of this unstable waste disposal method.
