Jammu 17:- Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) will launch a new application for streamlining the online payment mode for the consumers in the smart- metered areas.

The company, earlier engaged by the JKPDD (Wipro), for making the bill payment of power consumers online in prepaid mode has left the field due to unknown reasons.

As such the entire system of online payment mode in Smart metered areas of Jammu and Kashmir was erratic.

“Various technical modalities are being worked out and we will soon launch a new app  for streamlining the online payment mode in Smart Metered areas of J&K,” Chief Engineer, Manhar Gupta, informed RK, while adding, “the name of the App for online payment in the Smart Metered areas would soon be available in public domain”.

It may be mentioned that due to the erratic online payment system of the JKPDD, the consumers have been getting inflated power bills since the last around 3 months.
