Leh, July 16, 2024: A delegation from Central Tibetan Administration led by Sikyong Penpa Tsering called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; ADGP, Ladakh, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IPS and Commissioner/ Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS were present in the meeting.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering apprised the HLG that Central Tibetan Administration which is established to support Tibetans in exile under the leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He informed the HLG that Tibetans reside in 25 countries and 37 locations within India. Sikyong further informed the election process of the Central Tibetan Administration and sought HLG’s support for development projects aimed at improving the lives of Tibetan people living in Changthang region.
The HLG asked Sikyong Penpa Tsering to give a prioritised list of development projects so that the UT Administration can address these needs effectively. The HLG asked Chief Representative Officer of Sonamling Tibetan Settlement in Choglamsar, Leh to meet with the Advisor to review and prioritise the developmental works.
