Kargil, July 10: The Pagaria Welfare Foundation, in collaboration with Humas Upliftment Organization and Himalayan Volunteer Tourism, has inaugurated a new Toy Library at Police Public School in Kargil under the banner of Project Khilona. This initiative is designed to create a nurturing environment for early childhood development through engaging and educational play.
The inauguration ceremony was held on July 10, 2024, and was graced by the presence of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DAR) Kargil, Shri Stanzin Dorjay, who performed the ribbon-cutting honors. The event also saw the attendance of Bilal Ahmad, Secretary of Human Upliftment Organization, and Altaf Hussain, Founder of the organization. The school principal and staff were also present to witness the launch.
The Toy Library is a significant addition to the educational resources available at Police Public School, catering to over 60 students from nursery to 1st grade. The library boasts a diverse collection of 38 different types of toys designed to facilitate both educational and recreational activities for young learners. The aim of this initiative is to provide children with opportunities to learn through play, helping them develop essential skills in a fun and interactive manner.
In his address, DYSP Stanzin Dorjay highlighted the importance of such community-driven projects in fostering holistic child development. He expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of Pagaria Welfare Foundation, Humas Upliftment Organization, and Himalayan Volunteer Tourism, which have made this Toy Library a reality.
Bilal Ahmad and Altaf Hussain also shared their vision for Project Khilona, which seeks to establish toy libraries across various schools in the region to support children’s growth and learning. The Kargil library marks the 4th such facility established under this project, following successful launches in other communities.
The new Toy Library is expected to be a valuable resource for the students at Police Public School, providing them with a range of toys that support cognitive, emotional, and social development. Through interactive play, the library aims to make learning an enjoyable experience for the young students.
