Leh, July 10: The Drikung Dharma Foundation (DDF), Phyang, observed the auspicious occasion of the Buddha’s 1st Turning of the Wheel of Dharma, alongside the 79th birthday celebration of His Holiness Drikung Skyabgon Chetsang. The event was graced by Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of lamps, symbolizing the illumination of wisdom and compassion. The event featured a brief introduction to the Buddha’s 1st Sermon by HE Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpoche, setting a reflective tone for the gathering.
In his address, CEC Tashi Gyalson extended heartfelt birthday greetings to HH Drikung Skyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche. He emphasized the significance of the Go Green project and the mega plantation drive initiated by HH Skyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, with the support of LAHDC and the UT Administration. This initiative aims to address environmental challenges and promote organic farming in Ladakh. CEC Gyalson assured continued support from LAHDC for such noble endeavors, underscoring the collaborative efforts needed to foster a sustainable environment.
