Kargil, July 09: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon chaired a meeting at Conference Hall LAHDC Secretariat Kargil to address issues related with Mining Department Kargil.
The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor Tourism, PHE and I&FC Kargil; Executive Councillor, Social Welfare, Animal and Husbandry LAHDC, Kargil; Councillor, Choskore Constituency; Councillor, town constituency Kargil; Councillor, Baroo Constituency; Councillor, Shargole; Councillor, Bhimbet; Councillor, Taisuru; Sr. Superintendent of Police Kargil; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kargil; Deputy Director Mining and Geology UT Ladakh; District Mineral Officer, Kargil; Naib Tehsildar Kargil; Naib Tehsildar Sankoo and others.
During the meeting, the CEC directed Executive Councillor Tourism, PHE and I&FC, Kargil to outline the agenda. The Executive Councillor elaborated on the provision of sand and Bajiri to the public and contractors, highlighting the department’s challenges due to non-auctioned quarries/blocks.
The meeting extensively discussed the auction process for identified blocks which will be decided during the meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Brigadier B D Mishra.
It also discussed the terms and conditions proposed by LAHDC, Kargil which will be included in the guidelines.
New blocks will be identified by the District Mineral Officer, Kargil, and submitted to the Assistant Commissioner Kargil for review.
Akhoon also chaired a review meeting to discuss developmental issues of Sub-District Hospital Drass on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Executive Councilor, PHE & IFC, Kacho Mohd Feroz; Executive Councilor, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry Syed Mujtaba; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse; Councilor, Bhimbhet, Abdul Wahid; Councilor Ranbirpora, Abdul Samad; Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Block Medical Officer Drass besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, the CEC took a detailed review of the staff strength (in positioned and sanctioned) at Sub-District Hospital Drass which includes surgeons, doctors, physicians, Medical Officers, pharmacists, nurses, medical assistants, sweepers etc.
Dr Jaffer said due to the non-establishment of PSC board in Ladakh for the recruitment of gazetted posts of doctors, many vaccines are still lying vacant which is the main reason causing trouble in other sub–district hospitals as well.
The CEC said with the help of NHM, Ladakh, LAHDC, Kargil, is persistently trying to augment manpower at various health institutions including across the district.
The CEC Kargil gave patient hearing to the issues raised by the respective Councilors of the both constituencies of Drass Sub Division. He directed CMO Kargil to deploy a gynaecologist on rotational basis to SDH Drass as well. The CEC also directed the CMO to provide training to a doctor for a sonologist at the District Hospital Kargil.
The CEC also directed to deploy a paediatrician on a rotational basis. He also assured that a sweeper and a pharmacist will be deployed to SDH Drass once process of outsourcing is completed.
Dr. Jaffer also mentioned that the engagement of a gynecologist for the Drass Subdivision is in progress and will be deployed at the hospital once the procedure is completed.
The CEC directed CMO Kargil to hold Rogi Kalyan Meeting RKS at regular intervals along with both Councilors and discuss various other important issues of SDH Drass.
