Kargil, July 08: The Municipal Committee of Kargil organized a special luncheon today for the beneficiaries of the PM SVANidhi scheme, an initiative aimed at empowering street vendors through financial support and access to government schemes. The event, held at the Municipal Committee office, was attended by Kargil’s street vendors and the dedicated staff of the Committee.
Administrator of the Municipal Committee Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, was the chief guest at the gathering. During his address, Kacho praised the unwavering dedication of Kargil’s street vendors and commended the efforts of the Municipal Committee’s team for their significant role in the success of the PM SVANidhi scheme. He announced that nearly all street vendors in the region have been covered under the scheme, reflecting its widespread impact and effectiveness.
“Today’s event is not just a celebration of the scheme’s success but also a testament to the hard work and resilience of our street vendors,” said Kacho. “We are committed to supporting their livelihoods and ensuring that they have access to the benefits they deserve under the ‘PM SVANidhi se SIMRIDHI’ initiative.”
Under the ‘PM SVANidhi se SIMRIDHI’ program, the Municipal Committee of Kargil has undertaken extensive profiling of street vendors to ensure comprehensive coverage. The initiative aims to boost vendors’ economic prospects through financial assistance and facilitate access to various government schemes designed to enhance their livelihoods.
The luncheon also provided a platform for street vendors to share their experiences. Many beneficiaries spoke about the positive impact of the PM SVANidhi scheme on their businesses and expressed their gratitude for the support received. Vendors highlighted improvements in their daily operations and the positive changes brought about by the financial aid and additional resources.
