KARGIL , 8 July: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today inaugurated a five-day multi super-speciality medical camp at the Tourist Facilitation Centre in Kargil.
This camp has been organized by the LAHDC, Kargil, in collaboration with the District Administration and Ashoka Mission.
Doctors from AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi will be attending to patients at the District Hospital Kargil.
In his address, CEC Dr. Jaffer commended the efforts of Ashoka Mission and paid tribute to the late Lama Lobzang for their outstanding contributions to the health sector. “We are proud to host distinguished doctors from such prestigious institutions here in Kargil,” Dr. Jaffer stated. He emphasised that serving humanity was a mission of Imam Hussain (a.s) and organizing the camp in this holy month aligns with that mission.
Dr. Jaffer also highlighted the need for special training for Ladakh’s doctors at AIIMS and mentioned that this matter has been discussed with the LG of Ladakh. He urged the visiting doctors to provide special attention to the people of Ladakh when they visit AIIMS.
Executive Councillor for Social Welfare, LAHDC, Kargil, Aga Syed Mujtaba, praised the dedication of the medical fraternity and expressed hope for more such camps in the future.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kargil extended his gratitude to all stakeholders involved in organizing the medical camp.
Earlier, a moment of silence was observed in memory of Lama Lobzang during the event.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Chief Medical Officer.
The inauguration was attended by Executive Councillor for Social Welfare, other Councillors from LAHDC Kargil, former cabinet minister of J&K, doctors from AIIMS, Heads of Departments from the District Administration, and doctors from the District Hospital Kargil.
