Leh: In a notable event that underscored the significance of animal rights and welfare, former Union Minister and esteemed animal rights activist Ms. Maneka Gandhi visited the District Police Lines in Leh, Ladakh. The visit featured a comprehensive presentation on animal rights laws and strategies for preventing cruelty to animals.

Accompanied by her dedicated team, Ms. Gandhi addressed a gathering of key figures including Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, Ms. Shruti Arora IPS, Addl. SP Leh, Sh. Rigzen Sangdup JKPS, along with officers, officials, and staff from the District Police Lines, Choglamsar. Her presentation focused on a wide array of topics related to animal rights, integrating case references and practical examples to illustrate the enforcement and application of existing animal welfare laws.

During the session, Ms. Gandhi emphasized the vital role of law enforcement agencies in upholding animal rights and preventing acts of cruelty.
