Leh, July 04: The Animal Husbandry Department Leh successfully wrapped up a three-day Veterinary Healthcare and Awareness Program in Nubra on July 3, delivering essential healthcare services and valuable information to the region’s livestock rearers.

The program reached the villages of Tirisha, Taksha, and Chalungkha, where local communities participated enthusiastically. Throughout the three days, participants received comprehensive briefings on good dairy farming practices, clean milk production, and common dairy animal diseases, along with their control measures and treatment options.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, the program emphasized the economic benefits of maintaining healthy livestock. The importance of animal health for economic returns was highlighted, providing livestock rearers with a clearer understanding of the critical role animal health plays in their livelihoods.

One of the program’s notable features was the distribution of free first aid kits and supplements to the livestock rearers. This gesture was aimed at equipping them with the necessary tools to ensure the well-being of their animals. Moreover, the participants had the opportunity to address their queries and concerns directly to the veterinary experts present, fostering a more interactive and engaging learning experience.

The successful conclusion of this program marks a significant step towards enhancing livestock health and economic stability for the communities in Nubra, reflecting the dedicated efforts of the Animal Husbandry Department Leh.
