Samba, July 04: SANKALP, HEW Samba today organized a significant awareness program at Panchayat Ghar Badheri and Dhora, focusing on women-centric provisions within the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta. The initiative aimed to educate and empower women about their legal rights under the Indian legal framework.
The program highlighted the critical importance of legal awareness among women to ensure their safety, dignity, and access to justice. Emphasizing the pivotal role of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta, the session discussed its robust legal safeguards against crimes such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, and other forms of gender-based violence.
Key provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta were deliberated upon, including laws pertaining to domestic violence (Section 498A), sexual harassment (Section 354), and dowry-related offences. The discussion aimed to equip women with knowledge about these laws, enabling them to seek protection and recourse effectively.
The initiative is part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign, reflecting a broader commitment to uphold the rights and dignity of women and ensure a safer and more just society for all. By increasing awareness and understanding of legal provisions, SANKALP, HEW Samba seeks to empower women to assert their rights and combat gender-based injustices effectively.
