Leh, July 04: In a significant meeting convened at the BJP Party headquarters in New Delhi, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, Chairman and CEC of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh, spearheaded a pivotal meeting at the BJP Party headquarters in New Delhi. The high-profile delegation from BJP Ladakh, which included BJP State President Phunchok Stanzin and BJYM Vice President Dr. Dampo Thinles, engaged in extensive discussions with BJP National General Secretary (Org) B.L. Santosh on several important issues of the region.
The discussions centred around several important topics to Ladakh’s development and preservation. A primary focus was on advocating for enhanced constitutional safeguards to protect Ladakh’s unique cultural and environmental heritage. Key demands included the elevation of Zanskar and Nubra to district status to streamline administration and resource allocation effectively.
Advocate Tashi Gyalson underscored the imperative of constitutional protections in maintaining Ladakh’s distinct identity and stressed the necessity for formalizing Zanskar and Nubra as independent districts. Environmental concerns also took center stage, with the delegation emphasizing the rationalization of protected area boundaries,
BJP National General Secretary (Org) B.L. Santosh listened attentively to the demands raised by the Ladakh leaders. He assured the delegation that their concerns would be presented at the appropriate levels for consideration and resolution. In a gesture of deep appreciation, the delegation presented Shri B.L. Santosh with a traditional scroll painting (thanka) of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, symbolizing their respect and gratitude for his steadfast support of Ladakh’s progress.
