Five amongst three yatris injured in Ganderbal road accident

Ganderbal, Jul 04: A road accident in Satrina Kangan, Ganderbal District, on Thursday afternoon resulted in injuries to five individuals, including three yatris and two locals.

According to officials, the collision occurred between an Amaze vehicle, registered as PB10HZ-6707, and an auto-load carrier, registered as JK16A-9084. The Amaze vehicle was en route from Srinagar to Baltal for yatra purposes when it collided with the auto-load carrier, which was traveling in the opposite direction.

The injured yatris have been identified as 16-year-old Maneysood, 48-year-old Kiran, and 51-year-old Jagdesh Kumar, all residents of Ludhiana, Punjab. The two local residents injured in the accident are Javaid Ahmed, son of G.H. Nabi from Handwara, and Muzaffar Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman from Nizampora Kangan.

Following the accident, all five injured individuals were initially taken to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for emergency treatment. The three yatris were subsequently referred to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura for further medical care.

The Kangan Police have registered a case concerning the incident and have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.

Authorities are working to assess the full extent of the damages and are investigating potential factors contributing to the accident. The local community and yatra officials are monitoring the situation closely as they await further updates on the victims’ conditions.
