DIPR Leh bids farewell to former AD Dr Tundup Namgail; successor Mohd Amine Lone accorded warm welcome

Leh, July 04: The Department of Information & Public Relations, Leh bid farewell to its former Assistant Director, Dr. Tundup Namgial and welcomed its new Assistant Director, Mohd. Amine Lone on July 3.

Dr. Tundup Namgial served as the Assistant Director for a term of two years and eight months. During his tenure, the Department took numerous successful initiatives and organised various events including capacity-building workshops, cultural workshops, Ladakh Screenwriter’s workshop, Voice Over & Dubbing Workshop, Himalayan Film Festival and Sarphel Laskhungs Podcast among others. Besides, the Department provided subsidy under ‘Rolyangs-pa rogs’ and ‘rTsom-Rig Yar-skyed’ schemes.

Also, during Dr.Namgyal’s tenure, the Department compiled and edited UT Ladakh Achievement booklet, themed ‘Ladakh from Potential to Prosperity, 4-year Journey. Further, he was the editor-in-chief for the election special magazines earlier this year.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Director, Department of Information &Public Relations, UT Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho lauded the tireless efforts of Dr. Namgial towards making the Department a force to reckon with.  He also thanked him for his unwavering support to the Department, his immense contribution and for always motivating the employees to achieve their utmost potential.

Additionally, staff of the Department expressed their gratitude to Dr. Namgial for his contributions to the Department and for always supporting them in various projects and also initiatives under difficult circumstances sometimes. They also pointed out that Dr. Namgial has contributed tremendously towards the success of the Department’s magazine ‘Ladags Phonya’.

While talking about his tenure, Dr Namgial highlighted the importance of Information Department and how it plays a pivotal role nowadays. He added that working with the Department has been a pleasure and a memorable journey for him.

Further, the Department also bid farewell to Under Secretary, Department of Information & Public Relations, UT Ladakh, Rigzin Yangdol.

The newly joined Assistant Director, Amine Lone also spoke on the occasion. He expressed delight at joining the Department and exuded confidence stating that the Department will achieve greater heights of excellence in future.
