539 Individuals set to avail benefits under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme in Samba District

Samba, July 04: In a significant move towards advancing agricultural development in Samba district, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Abhishek Sharma reviewed the implementation and progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in a meeting held today at the DC office complex. The meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss the advancements of the programme and plan for future efforts.
At the meeting’s outset, Chief Agriculture Officer S. Madan Gopal Singh presented a detailed update on the achievements under the HADP. He reported significant progress in several areas including the promotion of vegetables and exotic crops through open and high-tech protected cultivation methods. The initiative also includes the promotion of beekeeping, development of rainfed areas, and efforts to encourage the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants.
The Chief Agriculture Officer highlighted the success of initiatives aimed at diversifying income sources for farmers. These efforts include the promotion of millets, mushrooms, commercial floriculture, and oilseed projects. The HADP aims to provide a range of opportunities for farmers to enhance their productivity and income.
DDC Abhishek Sharma reviewed the list of 539 online applicants selected for various benefits under the HADP. These individuals are set to receive support for activities across agriculture and allied sectors. The DDC emphasized the importance of expanding the coverage of allied sector schemes, including Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Horticulture Planning and Marketing, and Sericulture.
During the meeting, the DDC directed officials to maximize the number of farmers enrolled on the Daksh Kisan Portal for training under the ongoing Kisan Sampark Abhiyan 3.0. He stressed the need for a collaborative approach to foster sustainable agriculture and rural development in the district.
Additionally, the DDC urged banks to prioritize and facilitate the sponsoring of loan cases for beneficiaries, ensuring proper support and guidance throughout the process. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of the HADP and achieve substantial growth in the district’s agricultural sector.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Samba, Chief Agriculture Officer Samba, Chief Horticulture Officer Samba, District Development Manager NABARD Samba, Lead District Manager Samba, Deputy Sericulture Officer Samba, and other committee members.
