Leh, July 02: In a proactive move towards enhancing healthcare capabilities in Ladakh, Smt Puja Yadav, Vice President Operations & Projects at YUVA Healthcare, met with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. The meeting, attended by Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS, and Director Health Services, Dr Motup Dorje, focused on YUVA Healthcare’s ambitious plans for the region.
YUVA Healthcare, known for its advanced skilling initiatives in healthcare, aims to elevate the standards of medical care by providing essential skills to Nursing and Allied Health professionals through its state-of-the-art medical simulation centre. During the meeting, Smt Puja Yadav highlighted YUVA Healthcare’s technical collaboration with Partners Medical International, which has facilitated the design of comprehensive nursing education programs. These programs emphasize pedagogical principles, course structure, and evaluation methodologies tailored to meet global standards.
Moreover, Smt Puja Yadav proposed the establishment of an advanced simulation laboratory at the University of Ladakh Medical College, envisaged at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 crores. This initiative aims to address the critical need for enhanced healthcare infrastructure in Ladakh, ensuring that local medical professionals are well-prepared to deliver quality healthcare services.
In response to the proposal, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor appreciated the initiative and encouraged Smt Puja Yadav to collaborate closely with the Commissioner/Secretary, Health, to further examine and facilitate the proposal’s implementation.
This strategic partnership between YUVA Healthcare and the Ladakh administration underscores a significant step towards bolstering healthcare capabilities in the region, aligning with the vision to ensure accessible and advanced healthcare for the people of Ladakh.
Separately, a delegation from Ekam Satt Foundation, led by Shri Ameya Dabli, also met with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat. The delegation, which included Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS, and Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS, discussed the Foundation’s wide-ranging social initiatives.
Ekam Satt Foundation highlighted its contributions to education and healthcare, particularly in providing financial assistance to underprivileged students and supporting medical relief efforts. Shri Ameya Dabli emphasized the Foundation’s ‘Mission For Nation’ initiative, which includes workshops on mental well-being, awareness campaigns on mental health issues, and promoting value education and India’s cultural heritage through performing arts.
While expressing appreciation for Ekam Satt Foundation’s efforts, the Hon’ble LG clarified that the UT Administration does not have a role in such initiatives.
