Leh, July 02: Nyoma Senior triumphed over Y.A.C. Chushul with an impressive 153-run victory to lift the trophy of the 18th Kailash Running Cricket Tournament. The final match, organized by the Nyoma Youth Association under the banner of the Vibrant Village initiative, showcased exceptional cricketing talent and community spirit.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Councillor Nyoma Changthang Shri Ishey Spalzang and Guest of Honour Colonel Vinay Yadav, Deputy Commandant of the 254 Snow Leopard Brigade, along with other dignitaries from various Nyoma block departments. Special guest Carmen Williamson from New Zealand also attended the match, adding an international flair to the event.
In his address, Shri Ishey Spalzang congratulated the winning team and expressed his gratitude to the organizers for hosting such a successful tournament in the Changthang region. He emphasized the importance of sports in fostering community spirit and encouraged the local youth to take advantage of subsidies on sports equipment provided by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh.
