Leh, July 03: Taking further the process of land record modernization in Ladakh, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, UT of Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal has set a number of timelines for various stages as he exhorted the officers to expedite the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) within the union territory.
This transpired as Kotwal chaired a meeting to review the progress of DILRMP Project in the Union territory of Ladakh at VC hall Secretariat, Leh, the previous day.
During the meeting a detailed discussion was held on the current status of services since last review meeting.
It was informed that the number of completed survey modes has increased from 10 TO 12,with two additional modes from Leh district .
Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) were assigned responsibilities, with tehsildars overseeing specific tasks, and servers were inducted at 50% capacity.
“The Modern Record Rooms at Saspol, Nubra and Khalsti were completed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD),” an official spokesperson informed.
Reiterating the implementation of the best storage solutions, to ensure the preservation and easy accessibility of the digitized records, Advisor Dr. Kotwal emphasized the usage of local bricks, plastered with sundry local bricks, incorporating local architectural designs and engravings.
He directed the officials to submit furnishing requirements and requisitions by July 5th, with the estimation for allotment, and procurement of all the hardware and software to be prepared by 1st August, 2024.
Detailed deliberations and discussions were also held on issues included the digitization of villages surveyed, villages under demarcation, and the establishment of a comprehensive management information system (MIS) for land records.
Asserting that the accurate and accessible land records are crucial for transparency,
reducing land disputes, and facilitating development in the union territory, the Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor instructed the officials to expedite the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme within Ladakh.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner and CEO of LAHDC Kargil ;Chief Engineer, PWD, UT of Ladakh ;Chief Engineer, CPWD,UT of Ladakh; Technical Director, NIC, Ladakh; Asisstant Commissioner Revenue, Leh/Kargil; Chief Accounts officer(D),Revenue Department, UT Secretariat; Chief Planning Officer, Leh; Chief Planning Officer, Kargil; and Deputy Director(K),Planning Development and Monitoring Department, Ladakh.
Vikram Jeet Singh Jasrotia, Project Director, Monarch Consol-Geotech; S.Manooj, Ramtech Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd; Atal Suyash, Consultant, UT Secretariat, along with the officials who stationed outside also attended the meeting virtually.
Under DILRMP, the Ladakh administration is modernizing land records in planned way. All the land records are being digitized to simplify the procedures and bring about transparency in land transactions. The work is going on at fast pace, an official spokesperson added.
