Bandipora, July 02: Indian Army in collaboration with Dr. Pratibha Athavale organized a three day free dental camp in Sheikhpora village of Tulail in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The aim for conducting this 03 days dental camp was to provide essential dental care services to the residents of Jurniyal, Niru, Badoga, Sarodab villages in Gurez. This initiative aimed to address the lack of accessible dental healthcare in the remote region, where medical facilities are limited.
By organizing this camp, the Indian Army, in collaboration with Dr. Pratibha Athavale, sought to improve the overall health and well-being of the local population.
“The dental camp had a significant positive impact on the civilians of these villages. Residents who had been suffering from various dental issues received professional care and treatment,” local residents said.
The camp provided services such as dental check-ups, cleanings, extractions, fillings, and preventive education on oral hygiene.
A total of 208 civilians benefited from the dental camp which spanned over 03 days. This considerable turnout highlights the community’s need for such healthcare services and the effectiveness of the outreach efforts by the organizers.
Local villagers while hailung the efforts of Indian Army for conducting this camp shares for slightest toothache there needs to travel more than 40 km ‘s they hoped more camos lik3 this will be conducted in future.
Meanwhile Dr. Pratibha Athavale who is a Dentist, Social Worker and Writer and is doing free dental camps in remote village of Kashmir from several years said that the peoples in remote villages of bo4der areas have less knowledge about oral health care and by providing them facilities at doorstep she aims to aware and treat these peoples who did not have much access to basic health care.
