Leh, June 30: Expressing strong dissatisfaction with the findings of the inquiry report into alleged lapses by Feroz Ahmed, the Centre Superintendent for the CBSE Class 12 English examination at Government Senior Secondary School in Chanigound, Lieutenant Governor Brigadier BD Mishra has raised serious concerns regarding the security protocols and the handling of the incident.
The inquiry, led by Abdul Qayoom and a committee of four members, investigated claims that a Class IV employee at the examination center had illicitly captured and circulated images of the English question paper via WhatsApp. While the report concluded that Feroz Ahmed had performed his duties diligently, LG Mishra questioned several aspects of the investigation.
The LG was critical to the unrestricted access granted to a Class IV employee in the examination room. Mishra emphasized that such lapses in security should have been prevented with stricter measures.
He also highlighted the malfunctioning CCTV system during the crucial period and questioned why Ahmed was not promptly informed of the incident by examination staff, instead relying on police notification.
Expressing disappointment in the thoroughness of the initial investigation, LG Mishra underscored the need for a more rigorous and comprehensive probe to address the seriousness of the alleged misconduct.
He assured a detailed review of the inquiry’s findings and pledged appropriate actions to ensure accountability and prevent future breaches.
Brigadier Mishra reiterated the importance of stringent adherence to examination protocols to uphold the integrity of educational board examinations. He called for enhanced vigilance and stricter compliance with established guidelines to forestall similar incidents in the future. The administration is poised to review and reinforce examination procedures across educational institutions in Ladakh.
The meeting underscored broader implications for maintaining examination integrity and ensuring professionalism and accountability in managing critical events. The findings of the inquiry report highlight significant deficiencies that demand rectification through decisive action.
