Kargil, June 28: A comprehensive two-day training program aimed at familiarizing participants with the intricacies of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal concluded today at the Conference Hall in Baroo, Kargil. Organized by the Finance Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh, the program saw enthusiastic participation from local stakeholders eager to leverage GeM for procurement processes.
The training sessions, held during the program were meticulously designed to empower government officials and local businesses with essential knowledge about utilizing the GeM portal effectively. Led by esteemed resource persons, Deputy Director of GeM, Ankit Jhawar, and renowned Business Facilitator for Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh, Javeed Shaikh, the program delved into various aspects of procurement procedures and bidding mechanisms on GeM.
Ankit Jhawar, sharing insights during the sessions, emphasized the importance of GeM in streamlining government procurement, promoting transparency, and enhancing efficiency in acquiring goods and services. He highlighted key features of the portal, including the seamless integration of sellers and buyers, real-time tracking of procurement processes, and the facilitation of cashless, paperless transactions.
