Nyoma, June 28: In a spirited initiative to foster national unity and rural development, the NCC Cadets of 1 Ladakh Battalion have embarked on a transformative journey as part of the Vibrant Village Program. This initiative, envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, aims to imbue cadets with patriotism while promoting national integration through direct engagement with border village communities.
Under the banner of the Vibrant Village Program, which targets 17 villages nationwide for comprehensive development, 226 cadets along with Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) and Permanent Instructional (PI) Staff from 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC are set to participate. Assisted by the 37th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), the cadets will camp in Nyoma and undertake visits to the villages of Hanle and Karzok over the next five days, until July 5, 2024.
The primary objective of this camp is twofold: to instill a sense of patriotism among the cadets and to foster a deeper understanding of the daily lives and challenges faced by residents in these remote border villages. Activities planned include social welfare projects, social awareness programs, and motivational sessions aimed at encouraging local youth to join the NCC or other armed forces, or to become exemplary citizens contributing positively to the nation.
As per an official spokesperson, the significance of the Vibrant Village Program is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision for holistic rural development and national unity. He emphasized the importance of hands-on engagement in promoting socio-economic progress and empowering communities at the grassroots level.
