Jammu, June 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has initiated an inquiry against Dr. Vikas Gupta, the erstwhile In-Charge Assistant Project Officer, who was overseeing the work of the Joint Director Farms in Kashmir. This development comes following Government Order No. 2–)–JK(APD) of 2024, issued on June 9, 2024.
In accordance with Rule-33 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956, the government has appointed Sh. Shafqat Iqbal, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Agriculture Production Department, as the Inquiry Officer. He is tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the charges against Dr. Gupta, who is currently attached to the Office of the Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Kashmir. Mr. Iqbal has been directed to submit his report, complete with recommendations, within 15 days.
Additionally, Dr. Mohd Amin Dar, Deputy Director (Central) of the Sheep Husbandry Department, Kashmir, has been appointed as the Presenting Officer for this case.
The specifics of the charges against Dr. Gupta have not been disclosed at this time. The Agriculture Production Department anticipates that the inquiry will be conducted expeditiously and with full transparency, ensuring accountability within the department.
