Leh, June 28: In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare accessibility in rural Ladakh, the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Limited (ECGC) and Manav Vikas Sanstha (MVS) have collaborated to introduce state-of-the-art health machines at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Chuchot, Leh. The inauguration ceremony, held recently, celebrated the installation of an advanced Health ATM machine designed to revolutionize medical diagnostics in the region.
The Health ATM, capable of conducting over 46 health parameters, promises to streamline healthcare delivery by offering quick and comprehensive health screenings. This technological marvel, unveiled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Ladakh, was welcomed enthusiastically by local officials and healthcare professionals alike.
Dolma Choskit, Incharge Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Leh, highlighted the machine’s potential to improve healthcare efficiency, particularly emphasizing its reliability during the challenging winter months. “Ensuring the machine’s functionality throughout the year, especially during Ladakh’s severe winters, is crucial for sustaining quality healthcare services,” she remarked during the event.
Amit Kumar, Deputy General Manager of ECGC Limited, underscored the collaborative effort’s significance in promoting advanced healthcare infrastructure across rural India. “This initiative underscores our commitment to supporting public health initiatives and underscores the government’s efforts to extend quality healthcare to remote areas,” he stated.
Prior to the inauguration, Kartikeya Tewari, Assistant Vice President of Manav Vikas Sanstha, provided a comprehensive overview of the Health ATM’s capabilities. The machine offers a wide array of screenings including measurements of height, weight, body temperature, blood glucose, haemoglobin levels, ECG, and blood pressure. It also conducts invasive and non-invasive blood tests, heart checkups, and screenings for diseases like dengue, malaria, and typhoid.
The installation of the Health ATM at Chuchot PHC marks a significant step forward in improving healthcare access and quality for local residents. This initiative is expected to empower healthcare professionals to deliver timely and accurate medical diagnoses, thereby enhancing overall patient care in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries including Dolma Choskit, Incharge CMO, Leh; Mirza Hussain, Councillor of Chuchot Constituency; Tundup Nurboo, Councillor of Phyang Constituency; Dr. Nurboo Angchuk, Block Medical Officer of Chuchot; along with doctors, nurses, and staff of PHC Chuchot. Representatives from Manav Vikas Sanstha including Tarun Diwan, Secretary (MVS); Kartikeya Tewari, Assistant VP (MVS); Amit Kumar, AGM (MVS); and Madan Bairwa, Senior Manager (MVS) were also present, along with other officials and officers.
