Kargil, June 28: In a significant development aimed at enhancing educational facilities, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, along with Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Suse, inaugurated the Kindergarten Playzone and School Library at PM Shri Govt. Model High School Lankore today.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including Councillor Town Mohd Abass Adulpa, Chief Education Officer Kargil SD Namgyal, State Nodal Officer for PM Shri School UT Ladakh, district officials, Village Education Committee (VEC) members, school staff, parents, and enthusiastic students.
Addressing the gathering, CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon commended the school faculty and the VEC for their dedication in advancing educational infrastructure. He emphasized the Council’s commitment to continually improving educational facilities across Kargil.
Dr. Jaffer Akhoon also highlighted the significance of the newly established public library within the school premises, underscoring its role in fostering community learning. He assured continued support for future educational initiatives.
Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Suse praised the school’s infrastructure and educational standards, noting his personal connection as a parent whose child attends the school. He lauded the kindergarten playzone as essential for early childhood development, emphasizing the role of play in nurturing foundational skills and social behaviors.
Councilor Town Mohd Abass Adulpa extended gratitude to the LAHDC and district administration for their support. He outlined various achievements and ongoing initiatives in education, stressing their positive impact on the community.
Chief Education Officer Kargil, SD Namgyal, affirmed their commitment to addressing student concerns raised through the Student Council and informed that the kindergarten facilities are approved under the PM SHRI scheme for the fiscal year 2023-24.
The event concluded with remarks from the President of PM Shri Govt. Model High School Lankore and the submission of a memorandum of demands by the President of the Student Council. A vote of thanks marked the conclusion of the ceremony.
